Ying is an actress in New York City. Born in Beijing
and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba, she is a graduate of
Yale and The Neighborhood Playhouse.
Notable TV/Film credits include: the entrepreneurial
Lin-Lin in seasons 1-2 of Steven Soderbergh’s
acclaimed TV series, THE KNICK and co-lead as a journalism
student caught up in the Occupy Movement
in indie feature ALLURE (“lovely performances,”-NYT).
Stage productions include:
Incident at Hidden Temple (Pan Asian Rep),
Usual Girls (Signature), Tartuffe (IATI Theatre),
I Wrote on Ur Wall (Wild Project),
and Pornography for the People (HERE Arts).
Ying writes and performs sketch comedy with
her sketch group, Hot Buffet, and has been a member of
TV writing groups at Harvardwood and The Tank. Having produced
short video content for the NYT Local and AJ+,
she is currently working on her first
documentary —its about grammar.
